Our Proposals & Masterplan
Miller Homes is bringing forward proposals for a sustainable new neighbourhood at Land East of Jacksons Meadow, designed to respond to Bidford-on-Avon’s identified housing needs while integrating sensitively with the existing community and the landscape on the northern edge of the village.
Our proposals include:
- Up to 90 high quality new homes, designed to reflect Bidford’s character and local setting.
- 35% affordable homes, including affordable rented, intermediate and social rented accommodation to help local people access homes in the village.
- A range of house types and sizes, supporting households at different life stages, from first-time buyers to families and downsizers.
- A new Local Area for Play (LAP), alongside informal green spaces, seating areas and opportunities for recreation.
- Improved pedestrian connections, including enhanced access toward Public Footpath 125, supporting safe, active travel within the village.
- Access from Valor Drive designed as a 5.5 m street with 2 m footways and street lighting on both sides.
- A landscape-led layout, retaining key hedgerows, trees and existing natural features wherever possible.
- Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) such as attenuation basins and planted drainage areas to manage surface water and strengthen the landscape.
- A minimum 10% Biodiversity Net Gain, guided by ecological survey work and long‑term management, with Homes for Nature measures such as integrated bat and bird boxes.
- Retention and enhancement of existing trees and hedgerows, supporting wildlife corridors and helping the development blend into the surrounding countryside.
The Masterplan
Our emerging Masterplan has been shaped by the site’s existing landscape features – including hedgerows, trees, Small Brook, drainage patterns and the transition between the village and open countryside. Existing trees and boundary vegetation will be retained and protected wherever possible to maintain a natural, well established landscape character. New planting and green corridors will strengthen ecological connections and soften views toward surrounding fields.
The layout incorporates SuDS basins, green corridors and public open space to manage water effectively, support biodiversity and create attractive, accessible areas for residents. A new Local Area for Play is located within easy walking distance of all homes, providing safe places for children and families to enjoy.
